Village Rugs
Village rugs are woven with the same regional sensibilities as the city rugs, but with
a smaller population of weavers to pull from. Village rug designs are known for their
more disconnected nature and are easy to identify. Noteworthy villages are Moud
with its characteristic, instantly recognizable designs and Sarough, known as the
quintessential oriental rug in America during the mid-1900s.
