LAND APPLICATION
A
t our Capitol facility in Pasco, Washington, we proudly support
local agricultural efforts by providing water for land application
to nearby farms. Our partnership with the Pasco Process Water Reuse
Facility (PWRF) ensures that all process water from our operations
is effectively treated and repurposed. The PWRF removes biosolids
from the water, making it safe and beneficial for agricultural use.
In 2023, we contributed approximately 79 million gallons of water to the PWRF,
which local farms utilized for land application. This nutrient-rich water plays a crucial
role in enriching the soil and promoting the growth of future crops.
By engaging in this initiative, we are not only reducing the energy and resources
needed for water processing but also actively supporting the local economy. The
farms we aid in turn supply us with high-quality ingredients, fostering a mutually
beneficial relationship.
