ISSUE NO.13 SUMMER 2024 | WEST KENT NEWS

ASSISTANT PROVINCIAL
GRAND MASTER:
GRAHAM RAVEN
As we approach the close of this
masonic year, I find myself reflecting
on some of the great successes of
some of the Lodges in the group, in
both community engagement and
charity support.
I did manage to make the
Installation of Ash cum Ridley Lodge
(photo insert left) before becoming a
burden on the NHS and have
managed to make the installation of
Cornwallis Lodge to see a member
of
the
Communications
team,
Gordon Rollo installed as Master.
I look forward to congratulating all those
brethren receiving appointment and
promotion at the Investiture meeting at
Great Queen Street.
I must say that my health has not
been good for the start of 2024, in
fact as our late majesty said an
Annus horribilis to date, and I must
thank you all for your support and
understanding. I hope to be back on
form for the start of the 24/25 season.
I had the honour of presenting a 50year citation the David Viggers in my
mother Lodge, and having know
David all my masonic life made it
very special and seeing a super
ceremony of raising before the
presentation.
To close the real hard work has yet to
come in succeeding the targets in the
membership challenge, to increase
overall membership by 1% per annum for
the next 5 years. Although there are
some Lodges in the group beating the
challenge, there is a high percentage
that are not, but I’m sure they will take
up the challenge, and I hope that group
Lodges will be well represented at the
membership seminar on the 24th July at
Oakley house. A big thanks to the
membership team and especially our
Group Membership Officer, Jason
Russell, for his hard work and
assistance.
Brethren, continue to enjoy your
masonry, have a good summer break
and I look forward to meeting you on the
circuit in the new season.
Radiant Star Lodge 8967 (below)
I attended a moving installation
meeting at Radiant Star Lodge
where Steve Demwell Snr installed
Steve Demwell Jnr in an excellent
manner, especially as Jnr had only
been discharged from hospital that
morning.
