A MESSAGE FROM THE PROVINCIAL
GRANDMASTER AND GRAND
SUPERINTENDENT:
MARK DOUGLAS ESTAUGH
As we approach our summer break, I
am
still
receiving
very
positive
comments about the success of our
recent Provincial Investiture ceremony
at Freemasons Hall. We were blessed
with over 800 attendees in the Temple
which made a wonderful sight from the
East. It certainly confirms the progress
we have made as a Province year on
year, and a real joy to celebrate with
those who have contributed in such
ample measure to the success of our
Lodges and the development of the
Province.
As always, their preferment is as much
for the services they have given to date
as that which will be anticipated from
them in the coming years. However, as I
have clearly stated before, as we look to
our future and the continued to focus on
the reinvigoration of our Lodges and
their membership, we will also continue
to
see
the
correlation
between
demonstrable
support
for
our
aspirations and Provincial reward
become ever closer.
At the meetings and official visits which
we undertake on an almost daily basis,
your energy, enthusiasm and unity of
purpose
are
palpable.
We
are
welcoming new members, including
joining and re-joining members, which is
a testament to the way our successful
units are embracing the helpful
recommendations contained in UGLE’s
strategic roadmap and the Members
Pathway.
When I reflect on the annual
Membership
Challenge
figures
produced by UGLE for 2022 and our
subsequent performance for 2023, it is
clear to see that your approach to
seeking
out
new
membership
opportunities, whilst at the same time
improving
the
membership
experience in your units to retain
your members, has shown very
encouraging improvements. Whilst a
swallow doesn’t make a summer, –
the percentage differential between
ingress and loss of members
between 2022 and 2023 improved by
100% and, that membership trend
has improved yet again in 2024, to
the extent that we are now in positive
territory to date this year.
This means we are growing our
Provincial membership, which is a
hugely exciting position for us to be
in. We are, after all, a Members
Pathway Province!!
At a recent meeting at Oakley
House, we launched
