MANOR OF BEXLEY
CHAPTER No 5977:
Exaltation of 8 Candidates
Manor of Bexley Chapter 5977 have
become the latest unit embracing
the opportunity to simultaneously
conduct a ceremony with multiple
candidates.
Having previously undertaken a
double Exaltation ceremony in
February, their members went
further still at Oakley House, West
Kent’s Provincial headquarters on
Saturday 1st June, by Exalting eight
candidates in a single ceremony.
With a further four candidates
planned for February 2025, the
Chapter shows no signs of slowing
down its push for new membership.
The importance of support
An immense amount of planning was
undertaken by ProvGDC Norman
Rose, his team of ProvDGDC’s Cedric
Olden and Dan Cooper, together with
members of the West Kent Stewards
Chapter, who provided vital support to
Manor of Bexley by compiling the
modified ritual and ceremonial for the
event and attending each of the
multiple rehearsals. This close liaison
between Province and Chapter is what
made this very special meeting
possible.
The day itself was attended by over
80 Royal Arch Masons, including the
Most Excellent Grand Superintendent,
his Provincial Escort and members of
the Royal Arch Executive.
The ritual was conducted seamlessly
by the three Principals-Excellent
Companions Peter Young ProvGStwd
(Z) Mark Lewis (H) and Terry Bush (J)
along with a team made up of Chapter
officers and volunteers from the West
Kent Stewards Chapter, who ensured
that every candidate was personally
attended throughout. Contact details
are on the provincial website.
Finally, we currently have two
vacancies for a Group Almoner
covering Groups 2 and 3. If you are
interested in applying for either of
these posts, or require further
information, please contact me.
