ISSUE NO.13 SUMMER 2024 | WEST KENT NEWS 25
WEST
KENT
LIGHT
BLUES
CLUB CHAIR:
LIAM TURNER
As my tenure on the committee
draws to a close after six
enriching
years—five
as
Treasurer and one as Chair, I am
pleased to announce that Paul
Clarke of Saye and Sele Lodge
No. 1973 will assume the role of
Chair of the Committee effective
July 1, 2024.
Last year’s event was fantastic,
with us winning the inaugural
match. If you’re interested in
participating or just wish to enjoy
the day, please contact our new
Chair at
wklbcchair@westkentmasons.org
.uk. Bring a picnic, as the club
bar will be open.
This
past
year
has
been
particularly
notable
for
the
successful establishment of the
new West Kent Cornerstone
Lodge
No.
7379,
aimed
specifically at new or younger
masons. The lodge will relocate
to Bromley starting with our next
meeting in October. The Lodge
meetings are scheduled for the
1st Wednesday in October (the
Installation Meeting), the 2nd
Wednesday in December, the 1st
Wednesday in March, and the 1st
Wednesday
in
June,
all
commencing around 6.00pm. Our
goal
is
to
ensure
every
progressive office is held by a
Light Blue. For further details,
please reach out to me at
sec7393@btinternet.com.
Kicking off the next Masonic
Season, St John of Fidelity, in
collaboration with the West Kent
Light Blues Club, will host a
demonstration of the 1st Degree
on Saturday, September 14, at
Shirley Woolmer, Sidcup. Tony
Harvey,
who
was
UGLE’s
Prestonian Lecturer in 2012, will
narrate the event.
We’ve been organising breakfast
events across the province,
successfully hosting gatherings in
Welling,
Swanley,
and
Sevenoaks. We’re also gearing
up to take on the East Kent Light
Blues Brothers in cricket again at
Meopham Cricket Club on August
18, 2024.
Thank you for your support and
dedication.
We have more events lined up,
such as another visit to Quarterly
Communications following last
year’s success. To ensure the
continued growth of the club, we
need your participation. If you
have event suggestions or wish
to join the committee in any
capacity, please contact us via
the Chair’s email.

Further News
Liam received his first Provincial
Honours during the most recent
investitures ceremony, having
been promoted to Provincial
Steward. A role for which he is
most suited.
On behalf of the Communications
Team, we would like to extend
our most raucous celebration and
congratulations. Thoroughly well
deserved recognition for a Mason
who has dedicated years to the
support of new light blues
brothers.
We very much look
forward to seeing you out and
about in your new Reds!
