WEST KENT NEWS | ISSUE NO.13 SUMMER 2024
12
THE DEPUTY GRAND
SUPERINTENDENT:
JAMES MARSH
Brethren and Companions,
As we prepare for the summer
recess, I have been reflecting on
what has been a particularly
busy Masonic season for the
Royal Arch in West Kent.
The various Royal Arch Teams
led by the 2nd and 3rd Provincial
Grand Principals, and the Head
of RA Membership have been
working exceptionally hard in
implementing various processes
in
support
of
the
Grand
Superintendent’s
membership
strategy. I would like to take this
opportunity to thank them for
their hard work which is now
producing good results - our
Membership Challenge is in
positive territory.
Of course we cannot rest on our
laurels, but I am encouraged by
the number of Royal Arch
candidates that our Chapters
have lined up for Exaltation. This
of course has not been possible
without
your
support
in
embracing and promoting that
Pure Antient Masonry is a single
journey
from
Initiation
to
Exaltation.
Should your Chapter not have
any candidates lined up, please
make it YOUR responsibility to
source one, or more – every
Lodge in our Province has at least
one Brother who is not yet in the
Royal Arch – make it YOUR
responsibility to help that Brother
discover our wonderful Order.
The Royal Arch Membership
Development
Team
(RAMDT)
continue to excel; they have put
in place solid measures to
increase our RA membership,
they have also built a solid
strategy to retain our current
members, and to retrieve those
who have left the Order. I want to
place on record my thanks for the
hard work of the RAMDT, also the
RA Visiting Officers, Liaison
Officers and Membership Officers
who are forging the vital links
between
our
Chapters
and
Lodges.
Before we break for summer, we
will have our Provincial Grand
Chapter Meeting; the Grand
Superintendent has listened to
our Companions and he has
brought the Meeting back to
Bromley. The Meeting is nearly
fully-booked - we are already
close to capacity; if you have not
yet booked in, I would advise that
you do so immediately to avoid
disappointment – we have a full
agenda and there will be some
exciting announcements on the
day.
At our Provincial Chapter Meeting
we will say farewell to our two
Assistants to the Principals, E
Comps David Campbell and
Christopher Ashby - I thank them
for the tremendous amount of
work they have put in during their
tenure. By the same token we will
be welcoming our new APGPs, E
Comps Yashwant Patel and
Robert
Gaywood;
they
are
already working closely with
David and Chris to ensure they hit
the ground running at the start of
the new season, and I am very
much looking forward to working
with them.
In closing, I would like to wish
you all a good summer break, and
I look forward to seeing you when
the new season begins in
September.
Very best regards
James
