PROVINCIAL
GRAND MASTER:
DAVID HUNTLEY
By the time this article is published,
our Provincial Grand Lodge annual
investiture will have taken place, my
sincerest congratulations to all those
recipients of first appointments and
promotions, all of which will have
been well deserved.
The PGM personally checks every
appointment and promotion, approves
the executive recommendations and
then
signs
every
letter
of
appointment, the office spend a lot of
time preparing everything for the big
day, it’s a huge undertaking by many
voluntary members.
Our PGM has made the award of
Provincial honours reflective of a
member’s work, be it externally in the
community, charity work or masonic
work, this has worked extremely well.
We equally recognise that Lodges
must also do their bit. Lodges can
support the Province in charity, Royal
Arch membership, Members Pathway
or support of provincial events, and
many other ways, doing so provides
the right model against which rewards
for Lodges can be provided.
If you think your Lodge is not
supporting the 2026 Festival,
Members Pathway initiative, or other
provincial initiatives, then be the
one to change it, every member has
equal voting rights in his lodge,
don’t be intimidated by one member
they also only have one vote in
lodge decisions!
Attending
other
Provinces
annual
investiture meetings gives one a chance
to chat to other executive members and
to pick up on what is working for them.
Sharing what works is key to helping us
all work together as a team and not
competitors thereby helping freemasonry
to grow.
Adapting to modern times such as fast
track lodges that start later and finish
earlier are a great way to help younger
members fit meetings into a busy life.
