ETA 2021 Strategic Plan - Flipbook - Page 111
EnergyPlus: A new-generation building energy
simulation program based on DOE-2 and BLAST, with
numerous added capabilities.
GenOpt®: An optimization program for the minimization
of a cost function that is evaluated by an external
simulation program, such as EnergyPlus, TRNSYS,
SPARK, IDA-ICE, or DOE-2.
Green Resources and Energy Appraising Tool
(GREAT): Analyzes a city’s greenhouse gas inventory,
providing scenario generation of future energy and
emissions and evaluation of the impacts of different
policies.
Home Energy Score: Provides homeowners, buyers,
and renters directly comparable and credible
information about a home’s energy use. The Home
Energy Score Report estimates home energy use and
associated costs, and provides energy solutions to costeffectively improve the home’s efficiency.
Home Energy Saver: Designed for the general public,
Home Energy Saver allows people to rate their home’s
energy use. It provides suggestions for energy savings
based on information input by the user. It includes
blogs, videos, and case studies.
Industry Sector Energy Efficiency Modeling (ISEEM):
Provides an industry sector energy supply–demand
planning model, including commodity and carbon
trading as viable alternatives to emission reduction.
Laboratory Benchmarking Tool: A benchmarking
database tool that allows laboratory owners to compare
their facility’s performance to similar facilities and help
identify potential energy-saving opportunities.
Manufacturing Structure and Energy Research
(MASTER): Helps users understand how different factors
(production growth, industry structural change, and
energy intensity change) influence industrial energy use
trends over time.
Modelica “Buildings” Library: A free, open-source
library for modeling of building energy and control
systems using the equation-based, object-oriented
Modelica language.
National Impact Analysis (NIA): Assesses aggregate
impacts of potential efficiency standards for appliances
and commercial equipment.
Policy Analysis Modeling System (PAMS): Provides
robust techno-economic analysis to support energy
efficiency standards and labeling programs.
Prototype Energy Models for Laboratories, Data
Centers and Tall Buildings: New prototype building
models in OpenStudio OSM or EnergyPlus IDF forms for
modeling energy efficient design and technologies for
laboratories, data centers, and tall buildings.
