Nineteenparticipants had not yet implemented their EMIS, anddid not have data to report. Therefore, our analysisof the EMIS systems installed, represented in Figure6 (page X) and higher, is based on 85 participatingorganizations representing more than 506 millionsquare feet and 5,900 buildings. There were differentreporting rates for different data requests, and thenumber of participants (n) and square footage arereported for each finding. The findings provide anoverview of the types of activities, analytic tools, and energy management processes that Campaignparticipants use. The section also summarizes EMISand MBCx benefits, costs, and cost-effectivenessresults.3.1 Participant CharacterizationParticipants are mainly in the office and highereducation market sectors, with healthcare andgovernment laboratories also represented (Figure3, next page). The most common portfolio size isbetween 1 million and 5 million sq ft (Figure 4, nextpage). The median building size with EIS installed is91,000 sq ft and with FDD installed is 155,000 sq ft.The median number of buildings per portfolio with EISis 27 and with FDD is 8.Almost all Campaign participants have access orare gaining access to whole building hourly data inaddition to their monthly utility bill data, and almost 40percent of participants have submeter data for tenantsor end uses. Those who do not have whole buildinghourly data are FDD users who have not integratedmeter data into their FDD software.
