report area, which is a rental housing vacancy rate of 1.78%, in comparison the national rate is 2.47%.
Vacant other housing totals 12,792 units and includes those used for seasonal, recreational, or occasional
use, as well as units used for migrant workers. For the report area, which is an other housing vacancy rate
of 20.16%, in comparison the national rate is 8.27%.
Homeowners
The U.S. Census Bureau estimated there were 36,132 owner occupied homeowners of the estimated
63,455 housing units in the report area in 2019. This 56.94% is a decrease over the 73.91% owner
occupied homes in 2000.
