Early Head Start Eligible Children Under Age Three and Prenatal Mothers
In the Pro Action Head Start service area, an estimated 699 prenatal mothers and children under age
three would be eligible for Early Head Start based on birth records and the rate of economically
disadvantages families by district in the service area. The program is currently funded to serve 134
children in this age group, with just 16 of these being served by a center-based program option.
Therefore, the program is funded to serve just 19% of the estimated number of prenatal mothers and
children eligible. The table below shows the eligibility estimates. At the time of this report, 2020 births and
after were not available data.
