▪ [My] hopes would be for higher-paying jobs and training support for low-wage earners with
opportunity for growth in a job or to pursue education and career goals vs. just a job to pay the
bills.
▪ My hopes are that they begin working again. Many businesses are closed from COVID, but
many are looking for employees and are extremely shorthanded. I am concerned with the
workforce of our area and those businesses that our community thrives on.
a. Seniors (65+): Poorer housing, less food security
▪ Healthy food will not be available for some as the price of groceries gets higher. They will have
a harder time to be able to get needed medications. They might have a hard time to pay utilities
and get gas for their vehicles.
▪ There will be more food insecurity.
▪ With the inflation levels soaring, I worry for seniors being able to afford basic needs. I see Pro
Action not being able to help because of budgets that will not increase.
▪ I believe they will not be able to stay in their homes, for the cost of living is getting outrageous.
They are more comfortable in their home where they have lived for years independently.
▪ [There will be] increases in home-delivered meals, transportation, and help with heating and
cooling. With the price increases in everything and no increase in their income, we can expect
to see the poor get poorer!
▪ Poorer housing. Less food security. Lack of reliable transportation
▪ The Seniors with lower incomes are doomed. Income remains the same while everything else
becomes more and more expensive.
▪ I hope and wish for there to be major changes to Rx price gouging specifically targeting those
with chronic illnesses like COPD and Diabetes, and terminal illnesses like cancer. But this has
been a hope for a long time, that is why I do not hold my breath. My hope is that these
individuals will be found or reach out for support to be linked to supports and services to ensure
their best quality of life.
