Having watched the video with students, why not…
1.
Ask students which of the speakers they found to be inspirational, and why?
2.
Ask students to consider other career areas where language skills would be of benefit
(e.g. diplomacy, marketing, healthcare, administration…).
3.
Encourage access to the CareersPortal website for students to search for courses that include
language options!
4.
Encourage students to use any school-based devices to:
a. Research a career you are interested in and how language-learning could be of benefit to that
career.
And/or
b. Research and create a professional profile of one of the speakers from the Opening
Ceremony video:
