Suggested activities (continued):
• Ask pupils questions to reflect on these words as they see and hear them:
- Can you see funny characters?
- Can you predict the sound of words by looking at their spelling?
- Are there any letters which are written but not pronounced?
- Can you see similarities in some words across the different languages?
•
Tutor presents basic feelings (may use puppets/emojis/pictures/own facial expression and body language)
•
Other activities can include:
- Tutor acts out different feelings using body language or shows a card, while pupils shout out the word
- Tutor calls out the words and pupils, who have cards, show the correct one
- Pupils draw emojis based on the words the tutor says or shows
•
Tutor says how he/she is right now, then asks pupils how they are
•
Tutor can also give out role cards (name + feeling) and ask pupils to role-play.
Before we finish:
