Work-related language activities
you can use during Leaving Cert Applied &
Vocational Programme work experience
The world of work has changed hugely in the last 20 years. Workplaces in
Ireland are increasingly diverse - workers can be from a variety of different
countries and speak languages other than English. When students are on
work experience, they have an opportunity to reflect on this diversity. As
future workers in Ireland, Europe or the wider world, the use of languages
and the interaction with different nationalities and cultures in the
workplace is going to become more common.
This pack of activities will raise awareness among LCA & LCVP students of
diversity in the workplace as well as encourage them to reflect on how
important languages might be in their future careers.
