Work-related language activities you can
use during Leaving Certificate Applied &
Vocational Programme work experience
The world of work has changed hugely in the last 20 years. Workplaces in
Ireland are increasingly diverse - workers come from a variety of diferent
countries and speak languages other than English. When students are on
work experience, they have an opportunity to renect on this diversity. As
future workers in Ireland, Europe or the wider world, the use of languages
and the interaction with diferent nationalities and cultures in the
workplace is becoming more common.
This pack of activities will raise awareness among LCA & LCVP students of
diversity in the workplace as well as encourage them to renect on how
important languages might be in their future careers.
