(Warm-up exercise 2)
Students work alone or in pairs to complete this A-Z brainstorming activity.
They should be given a fixed amount of time (e.g. 1-2 minutes) to compile a list of as many words as
possible related to the Fair Trade module, each starting with a different letter of the alphabet. They can
be reminded to reflect back on breakfast items, countries, climate descriptions, plants, trees, principles
of Fair Trade etc.
To add a competitive element, points can be allocated when correcting the exercise.

Students who don’t get any word for a particular letter are awarded 0 points for that letter.
Students who get the same word as classmates are awarded 1 point for that letter.
Students who get a different word starting with a particular letter than their classmates are awarded 2
points for that letter.
If a student is the only one to get a word starting with that letter, they are awarded 3 points for that
letter.
