Blended Leaving Cert Polish
Leaving Certificate Course for Polish is being ofered
as a subject choice in your school. This is a blended
course and will be provided online and face to face
through the school and will cover all aspects of the
Leaving Certificate Polish course for 5th and 6th
years. Polish will be taught by fully-qualified Polish
teachers experienced in blended teaching and
learning.
In this course, you will work with a class group, some
of the students may be in your school, but most will
be from other KWETB schools. You will engage in 180
hours of learning over the 2 years as with all other
LC languages.
For the timetabled class period, you will go to a
designated room in your school and log on to the
course during school time. Typically, you will see and
hear your e-Teacher and do group work with the other
students located in the other KWETBschools. The
teacher will ask questions, engage in discussion and
demonstrate classwork. You will carry out discussion
and assignments with the e-Teacher and other
students on the course. You will be able to share your
work with the teacher and get feedback and one-toone help as required. Expect to be given homework
and to have to study in your own time. The e-Teacher
will visit your school for face-to-face classes at
regular intervals.
You will need to have access to a computer or laptop
– this can be arranged with your school if required.
Access will be provided to a mentor teacher in your
school who will provide support and ensure that you
can participate in the online classes. You will sit the
Leaving Certificate exam in the normal way at your
school.
In choosing this course, you will:
• Have access to Leaving Certificate Polish
which would not otherwise be available in
your school
• Work in a safe, monitored online
environment
• Have ongoing support and advice from a
school-based mentor
• Learn how to use technology as an
essential tool for learning
• Have the opportunity to participate in
class discussions with more ease than
face-to-face class sessions.
Taking part in the online course ofers a new
experience of 'blended learning' which will be
good preparation for further learning, at third
level and beyond.
If you are interested in participating in
this blended Leaving Certificate Polish
course, please talk with your school.
