From local wine and beer to extensive
spirit and cocktail lists, Howard County will
top off your celebrations, big and small,
with an unforgettable beverage.
Water, malt, hops, and yeast may seem
like simple ingredients, but there are so many
unique combinations that can be found within
the County. If you love the hoppy bitterness of
an IPA, Frisco Taphouse typically has several
on tap at any given time. With more than 50
rotating taps in total, you’ll find a new favorite
with each visit. Jailbreak Brewing Company
has a delicious combination of year-round
staples as well as seasonal and limited release
brews, including their easy-drinking classic,
Infinite Amber Ale. Visit Sapwood Cellars
for a mouth-puckering sip of a fruity seasonal
sour beer, or the Guinness Open Gate
Brewery and Barrel House for more than 15
unique beers on tap, including their flagship
brew, Baltimore Blonde Ale.
Vouvray by the bottle. This esoteric wine is
a rare find on most wine lists and is revered
for its floral aromas and boisterous flavor.
The chefs at Iron Bridge Wine Co. set
out to create modern American cuisine
with international influences, but most
importantly, the menu must pair well with a
great glass of wine.
Every great cocktail starts and ends
with good spirits. Chicken + Whiskey is
appropriately named, with a delicious menu
of Peruvian chicken and an impressive 99
types of whiskey. Their options come from
all around the world, including Japan,
Scotland, Australia, India, and everywhere
in between. CURED Table & Tap and
18th & 21st have an entire menu
dedicated to bourbon, with over 100
18TH & 21ST
options available, while the vodka and
gin cocktails at Hudson Coastal Raw Bar
& Grille are the perfect pairing for the
restaurant’s seafood dishes. Try a fruity
and refreshing HC Crush, their take on the
signature Maryland cocktail. Xenia Greek
Kouzina is a traditional restaurant serving
up the flavors of the Mediterranean in both
their food and drinks.
Are you a fan of the classic combination
of whiskey, bitters, and orange? Then you’ll
love the Trailblazer Old Fashioned at Lost
Ark Distilling Co. The cocktail features their
own Trailblazer Straight Bourbon Whiskey,
made from locally sourced rye wheat. If
you’re partial to the balance of sour and
sweet, we recommend a margarita from
La Palapa Grill & Cantina. They have
several delicious flavor options, but the real
star of this show is their house-made sour
mix. And finally, for a refreshingly sweet
yet minty beverage, you have to try the
Watermelon Cilantro Mojito from Mutiny
Pirate Bar & Island Grille. Their cocktail list
is inspired by seafaring spirits from the 18th
century, and they’re best known for their
rum-based cocktails.
