Howard County Maryland Visitor Guide 2024 - Magazine - Page 33
Maryland is best known for three
things: a unique state flag, stunning
landscapes sprawling from ocean
to mountains, and delicious seafood.
Spots
Howard County claims all of those
accolades, but we especially love the local
restaurants that take great pride in that third
point—bringing fresh, local seafood to
guests’ plates.
CURED Table & Tap puts an elevated
spin on the traditional neighborhood
corner bar. Seafood can be found
throughout their menu, from the Crispy
Fried Oyster and Tuna Tartare appetizers,
to the classic Maryland Crab Cakes and
Salmon BLT. Within CURED, you’ll also
find 18th & 21st, an upscale, speakeasystyle restaurant. Designed to emulate the
sophistication of a prohibition-era supper
club, the menu includes high-end dishes
like Oysters Rockefeller, Pan Roasted
Branzino, and Poached Lobster.
For an authentic seaside dining
experience, Hudson Coastal Raw Bar &
Grille features dishes sourced all along
the east coast, served in a bright, relaxed
atmosphere. The raw bar menu boasts four
different preparations of oysters, while the
appetizers include favorites like Calamari,
Ceviche, and Hot Crab Dip. The “Award
Winning” Seafood Burger and the Fish
Tacos are must-try selections for your
main course.
The Walrus Oyster & Ale House is
probably best known for their Lobster
Roll, which was nationally ranked as one
of the Top 10 Best Sandwiches in the USA.
But the Walrus has even more to offer!
The from-scratch kitchen creates classic
dishes with fresh, local ingredients in a
casual atmosphere. Savory clam chowder,
a Chesapeake Kettle overflowing with crab
claws, clams, mussels, and more, and a
selection of fried fish coated in a classic
cornmeal crust are just a few of the menu
options from the sea.
DECADENT DESSERT BAR
Located in the Maple Lawn community,
Lib’s Grill is a neighborhood restaurant
and raw bar serving up a seasonal
assortment of fresh seafood and steaks.
Start your meal with Steamed Shrimp or the
Tuna Nachos before diving into the Shrimp
& Grits, Lobster Mac & Cheese, or the Not
Your Mother’s Tuna Fish Sammy. There’s a
reason Maryland is known for its seafood,
and Howard County is a perfect example!
