needed. Nacogdoches Fire personnel conduct annual
fire and life safety surveys and inspections of properties,
provide public fire education programs in public
schools and tours of the fire stations and fire museum.
Additionally, firefighters help maintain and inspect the
City’s system of over 1,500 fire hydrants and maintain
stations, apparatus, and equipment to ensure that the
department is ready to respond night or day. The

one medium duty rescue, and three wildland engines,
and responds to over 4,500 calls for service each year.
