Mission from Bylaws:
The Board of Spiritual Growth and Adult Education will plan,
implement, and encourage diverse opportunities for spiritual
growth, enrichment, and faith formation for adults and maintain
the library in the Center for Spiritual Growth.
Major Events/Achievements in 2023-2024:
The board planned and implemented the following opportunities
for the congregation this program year:
• Devotions Question: As a member of Christ’s body, what are
you doing to build or improve relationships?
• Identified four focus areas to guide the board’s ministry:
− Story Telling
− Visual Arts in Christianity
− Food Instability
− Meditation
• Provided a table for the Plymouth 30th Anniversary of being
Open and Affirming celebration in October.
• Sponsored a Meet the Author luncheon event in October:
book “A Spiritual Biography: From Appalachia to Alaska”.
• Advent Retreat in December: The Risk of Incarnation was
attended by about 20 members.
• Sponsored a Plymouth Church table at Roads to Religion
event at Drake University in February.
• Co-sponsored with the Board of Christian Social Action and
the Creation Care and Justice Committee Eating Better
Together luncheon and program in April.
• The Board of Spiritual Growth and Adult Education provides
sponsorship for these groups:
