CHARITIES
Phoenix take great pride in providing donations to several fantastic charities.
Unfortunately, due to the nationwide lockdowns in the first half of the year, we
were unable to take part in our regular amount of charity work/team building
exercises.
With the world opening up and appearing to return to normality again,
Phoenix have a number of exciting events in the pipeline, so be on the lookout
for announcements soon.
In April, we donated 50 Easter Eggs to Nottingham based
charity, Imara.
Imara are a specialist service that support children, young
people and their families that have experienced sexual
abuse. They have created a ‘wellness pack’ costing £22
which has proven to be beneficial to those they support.

Phoenix Brickwork and Drywall divisions each donated £250 to the
Henry Brothers Midlands team to help towards converting a derelict
building at the Alfreton Park Community Special School, known as
The Deer Shed, into a shop and café.
Henry Brothers hosted a charity Cricket match against Alfreton
Cricket Club at the beginning of September to raise funds for the
project, which will provide pupils with learning difficulties the
chance to gain valuable experience, build their confidence and
learn new skills as well as providing the local community access to
new facilities such as the playground, parks and swimming pool.
Also in September, Project Surveyor Mark Doyle was a very busy man
as he cycled 100 miles around the Hertfordshire and Cambridgeshire
countryside in the Willmott Dixon Classic Bike Ride and took part in
the Robin Hood Half Marathon in Nottingham, sponsoring other
participants in both events.
The bike ride was for Action Medical Research for Children, a leading
UK charity that fund vital research to help defeat serious illnesses
within babies, children and young people. The half marathon was
for Cancer Research UK, who look at helping provide treatment and
cures for those suffering from cancer.
