Student living facilities at the
heart of Nottingham's Creative
Quarter. The Lower Parliament
Street site will accommodate a
5/6 storey, 215-bed purposebuilt student accommodation
development that will make
additional beds available to
the University of Nottingham
and
Nottingham
Trent
University students in the city.
The development features a combination of
studios, accessible studios and en-suite rooms
arranged in clusters, with a total gross internal area
of 6,729 square meters. A roof terrace, communal
amenity areas, private dining, gym, and laundry
facilities are provided as part of the development,
as well as a food and beverage unit on the ground
floor and the relocation of an existing network
substation.
The site lies within the Sneiton Market
Conservation Area within Nottingham's Creative
Quarter. This is an area of the city that enjoys a
vibrant mix of urban living with an independent
retail mix. Well connected through existing
pedestrian and cycle links, it provides convenient
access to all parts of the city centre.
The demand for accuracy and quality on
this project was vital considering all the
design details. The impressive front
façade constitutes a mix of projecting and
stretcher brickwork and features the
8Sneinton9 signage spelt out in white
brickwork. Curved panels, projecting
panels, projecting curved panels and a
soldier coursing parapet detail adds to the
clean lines of the structure.
