WELLBEING
World Suicide Prevention Day is organised by the International Association for Suicide Prevention,
which encourages people everywhere to become a beacon of light to those in pain.
This years theme was 'Creating Hope Through Action9. Which is a reminder that there is an
alternative to suicide and aims to inspire confidence and light in all of us.
Through action, we can all make a difference to someone in their darkest moments as well as
provide support to one another.
Phoenix understands the importance of mental health and wellbeing within the construction
industry and ensuring the subject reaches all areas of the organisation.
That9s why plans have been put in place to incorporate a dedicated wellbeing section within our
H&S talks. This will also provide an additional forum for site colleagues to address any concerns or
make suggestions on improving wellbeing.
Phoenix joined the world in recognising #WorldMentalHealthDay - a day dedicated to raising
awareness of mental health issues and promoting an environment that provides support and
resources for those who need it. It is important to let people know that it9s okay to ask for help, no
matter what you9re going through. The theme for 2023, set by the World Federation for Mental
Health is 8Mental Health is a Universal Human Right8. The World Federation for Mental Health
believes that mental health must be recognized as a fundamental human right within a human
rights framework, with access to services becoming an obligation.
Here at Phoenix, we understand the importance of creating an inclusive workplace where all our
colleagues feel supported and heard. Join us and others in sharing the importance of World Mental
Health Day.
