HEALTH & SAFETY
It is of no surprise that this welcome, dramatic drop
in reported accidents, correlates with the
introduction of the near-miss QR code, which has
allowed site teams to act swiftly upon notification,
preventing further incident. In turn, these reports
help the Health and Safety department develop
more robust Method Statements and Risk
Assessments.
Please ensure that you use/ promote the QR code
as the results speak for themselves and help to
maintain a positive Health and Safety culture
throughout the Phoenix Group.
If you require further information or would like to
discuss matters relating to Health & Safety, the
Environment or Quality, please don’t hesitate to
contact myself or Kayleigh.
Once again, it’s my pleasure to
announce
that
the
safety
standards at Phoenix Brickwork/
Drywall/ Scaffold are continuing to
improve.
In the first half of 2022, 16
accidents were recorded and 4
Near Miss incidents were reported.
In the first half of 2023, there has
been a total of 6 accidents - 1 Lost
Time Injury, 3 Non Lost Time minor
injuries and 2 accidents involving
minor damage to property, across
the business, with 21 Near Miss
incidents being reported through Thank you,
Neil Weston
the Phoenix QR code.
Head of Safety, Health, Environment and Quality.
Phoenix understand the importance of mental health and wellbeing within the construction
industry and ensuring the subject reaches all areas of the organisation.
That’s why plans have been put in place to incorporate a dedicated wellbeing section within our
upcoming H&S talks. This will also provide an additional forum for site colleagues to address any
concerns or make suggestions on improving wellbeing.
