OUR WALLS
opened more than 25 years ago, to the studio’s most recent
昀椀lm, Elemental. Presented locally by NexPoint and supported
by Texas Instruments, Visit Dallas, and in part, by the City of
Dallas Of昀椀ce of Arts and Culture, The Science Behind Pixar
enabled guests to revisit the 昀椀lms and their stories.
Visitors explored the nearly 10,000-square-foot exhibition
with more than 50 interactive elements and learned about the
science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM)
thinking skills and practices used by the artists and computer
scientists who help bring Pixar’s award-winning 昀椀lms to the big
screen. Pixar 昀椀lms have thrilled audiences for decades, from the
昀椀rst-ever computer-animated feature 昀椀lm Toy Story, which

This traveling exhibition was presented in English — and in
Spanish digitally — with visitors able to engage in dozens
of hands-on activities, listen to 昀椀rsthand accounts from
members of the studios’ production teams, and come
face-to-face with life-size recreations of cherished Pixar
characters such as Buzz Lightyear, Woody, Ian Lightfoot,
Edna Mode, and WALL-E! The Science Behind Pixar
was developed by the Museum of Science, Boston, in
collaboration with Pixar Animation Studios.
