CHILDREN’S
STEM WORKSHOPS
T
his year, the Museum introduced Children’s STEM
workshops, an exciting addition for our members,
held on the 昀椀rst Saturday of each month in the Lower
Level Learning Labs.
These workshops offer an hour of exploration, discovery, and hands-on learning designed to
ignite the curiosity of young minds and foster a love for science, technology, engineering,
and mathematics. Through engaging activities that last approximately 10 minutes each,
children in kindergarten through sixth grade can delve into the beauty and mysteries of
nature and science, sparking curiosity and nurturing a love for learning. This is a rewarding
opportunity for kids who dream of becoming scientists, engineers, and mathematicians — or
all of the above — to take their 昀椀rst steps toward a bright and exciting future in STEM.
VOLUNTEERS
I
n 2023, the Museum was honored
to receive the generous support of
1,559 volunteers across North Texas,
contributing more than 30,000 hours
of their time and expertise.
These corporate and civic volunteers enhance the visitor
experience, provide invaluable educational support at activity
stations, and facilitate way昀椀nding throughout the Museum.
A highlight of this year’s volunteer engagement is the
ConnecTEEN program, presented by Lockheed Martin — an
evolution of the Perot Museum Teen Crew. Through engaging
hands-on activities aligned with our 11 permanent exhibit
halls, these dedicated teens not only welcome and inspire
our younger visitors, but also embark on journeys of personal
and professional growth. They gain vital 21st-century skills,
bene昀椀ting from industry-led workshops, workforce readiness
training, and team-building exercises, setting the foundation
for their future careers while signi昀椀cantly contributing to our
institution’s mission.
