4. Multiple cues
The most persistent behaviours usually have
multiple cues. The key, therefore, is to oll
your environment with cues that direct you
to your good habits.
Disciplined people are better at structuring
their lives in a way that does not require
masses of willpower and self-control.
E.g., placing recurring weekly diary invites
with your team members and make
feedback an agenda item for every meeting.
5. Start small
Do a little vs doing nothing at all.
E.g., should you have a goal of running a
marathon - your gateway habit is putting on
your running shoes.
6. Habit stacking
Combining habits can strengthen each
other. E.g., regularly accessing your team
members Thomas Connect Proole (habit 1)
to understand how they prefer to receive
feedback before delivering it (habit 4) can
complement each other and improve the
experience for your team member and you.
7. Track and reflect on progress
The challenge is to maintain good habits
over time. The most effective form of
motivation is progress.
