about basketball. Only until Sifiso and Sanele came along. Growing up in
Molweni was hard back then, and even now, it is still a tough place to live
because of so many people are doing drugs and involving themselves in crime
and violence. I don’t know what I’d be doing now if I didn’t join basketball
when Sifiso and Sanele came to my school, Ukukhanya Kwe-Africa Primary.
Every medal, basketball memory and team I played for is because of them.
They meant everything for what they did for us. If you know a player in my
age group (22), you know Sifiso & Sanele are behind that player and their
success.”
“Sifiso especially, I could never find the words to express my thanks. Even
when life presented problems that seemed impossible to overcome, you
were there for me. You were the only one I could count on to keep my head
straight.”
II. CHRISTOPHER SIYETHEMBA CILIZA
“When I was in grade 10 and the youngest on the Molweni Flames team, I was
struggling on and off the court. But I met two people who helped me out along
the way.
Sifiso & Sanele were inseparable; I grew up under their guidance. I’d share
personal challenges, and they would also share challenges they didn’t want
me to face. They were big brothers, motivating me to do well and guiding me
in every aspect of life. Thank you for coming to my graduation and helping to
shape me into the person I am today. It takes a community to raise a child and
you guys were a major influence in my life. From Playing for Peace life skills
curriculum to teaching me basketball fundamentals. Keep on being the light
of Molweni basketball and may you find success in all your future endeavors.”
