PEACEPLAYERS ANNOUNCES FIRST LEADERSHIP ACADEMY COHORT
A note from Heba El-Hendi, Director of the Leadership Academy
The Leadership Academy is the next step in the PeacePlayers
leadership pipeline, accessible to all alumni across the globe. Our
alumni have grown up in communities facing conflict, and many
come from historically excluded groups. The Leadership Academy
has the potential to not only change the lives of our alumni, but
their communities for future generations. Having conducted
assessments and focus groups, many alumni have expressed needing
college application and scholarship support, opportunities to
network, and mentorship.
OUR ALUMNI ARE AMBITIOUS, AND SEEK TO AFFECT CHANGE. THEY BELIEVE IN
THE POWER OF THE COLLECTIVE, MAKING IT VITAL TO HAVE THE
LEADERSHIP ACADEMY BE A PLACE FOR THEM TO CONNECT.
The Leadership Academy in its first year of programming will address
the needs of our alumni through programming on the individual and
group levels. Each of the 17 members will have individualized oneto-one guidance and support to reach specific academic, professional,
and social impact goals. The alumni will connect on the group level
through virtual capacity building workshops, in-person convenings,
and peer learning.
