CASE STUDY : PLYMOUTH LIFE CENTRE
Designed by architects, Archial, Plymouth Life
Centre features a 50m competition standard
pool, diving facilities and a leisure pool using
tiling solutions available through Aquatechnica.
A focus of community pride and a major
landmark within the city, Plymouth Life Centre
cost some £46.5m to develop.
Given the high-profile nature of Plymouth
Life Centre, it was essential that Archial
specified a performance tile solution for the
pools, reception, café, toilets and changing
areas. Providing slip-resistance where needed
and upholding the requirement for highly
durable and easy to maintain finishes, it was
also important that the tiles contributed
to a great looking interior.

requirements, with a very high level of
stakeholder consultation with the likes of the
Team GB Diving coaches, British Swimming
and British Octopush Association, but the
finished project exceeds both our expectations
and those of our client.”
