HOW ARE SPILLS ABSORBED? BY USING ABSORBENT MATERIAL. IN EACH SPILL KIT THERE ARE MULTIPLE
METHODS AVAILABLE TO CONTAIN ANY SPILL NO MATTER THE SIZE. USING ABSORBENT MATERIALS ENSURES
THAT THE SPILL IS CLEANED UP EFFECTIVELY, EFFICIENTLY, AND PROPERLY DISPOSED OF.
Each item of absorbent material has its own specific use when dealing with a spill, these are:
• Booms – Ideal for blocking drains, containing a spill before it spreads or pollutes the environment and
waterways.
• Pads – Used to wipe tools and collect smaller spills that still pose a risk to the workplace.
• Pillows – Quickly soak a large amount of liquid. Able to be squeezed and reused.
• Floor Sweeps – Lightweight and easy to spread. Floor sweep can be used indoors and outdoors, on any surface
including concrete and dirt, and in some cases, water.
