BISON SUSTAINABILITY JOURNEY
On our Sustainability Journey we have already made some
great steps in becoming a more sustainable and eco friendly
company by 2025. Some of our milestones on our journey so
far have been;
• We launched our first ever Recycled Polyester T-Shirts with
more recycled products in the works.
• We are working alongside The Packaging Forum’s Soft
Plastic Recycling Scheme.
• We are an ISO certified organisation and are now ISO 9001,
ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 approved.
SOFT PLASTIC RECYCLING SCHEME
Bison as part of Paramount Safety Products
are members of The Packaging Forum and
The Soft Plastic Recycling Scheme.
The Soft Plastics Scheme has made it
possible, and easy, to recycle our soft plastic
packaging. The polybags we do use are a
soft plastic made with at least 20-30% recycled LDPE.
In our search for better solutions our purchasing decisions will
follow a more sustainability mindset. We will be looking into
sustainable straps, packing tape, boxes and packing labels.
Once soft plastics are collected, the materials are then
recycled through processes set up by members of the Soft
Plastic Recycling Scheme. Companies such as Future Post
and Second Life Plastics turn plastic into useful products, like
fence posts, garden frames and buckets.
Any printing collateral will have sustainable sourced paper and
environmental inks. We are also using more digital technology
and providing electronic platforms like our Distributors
Resources Tab on our website to reduce the need for paper and
hard copy documents.
Bison have already made great steps in reducing packaging
materials and implementing new ECO FUTURE procedures. We
have reduced a number of our swing tags on our garments and
footwear as well as eliminating polybags from our MOHAWK
and INCA Gumboots.
RECYCLED POLYESTER T-SHIRTS
We are excited to introduce our new range of Recycled
Polyester T-Shirts! These are created with plastic bottles and
other plastics which have been granulated, then reduced down
to minute particles or fragments and are then turned into a
fibre and yarn to make our T-Shirts.
We can’t get rid of packaging right away, but we can make it as
easy as possible for you to recycle. For more information on
this scheme you can visit www.recycling.kiwi.nz
