Campfire cuisine
When the sun goes down
at Heritage Awali Golf & Spa
Resort, Boma, one of the
domain twelve restaurants,
takes on quite a different
feel. Beneath a starry sky,
there’s a “return to our roots”
experience, when typically
guests go barefoot in the
sand, whirling around to the
beats of the drums. Boma,
able to accommodate up to
thirty guests, glitters in the
firelight. The feel is intimate
and distinctly African, while
the food and music add to the
warm atmosphere. The buffet
features a fusion of flavours and
savours, from the freshness
of octopus salad with lemon
comfit to the richness of giant
prawns in garlic and chilli or a
tender chicken curry served
with sweet potatoes. From the
first to the main course and
then the dessert, each mouthful
is sensational. Things warm up
further when the show begins,
as the fire-eaters and the
frenzied hip-swaying dancers
