As we move into 2022 the PRFAcompetition and awards programmewill continue to grow and provide bothproducer and consumer value.During 2021, RASWA was very pleasedto announce a significant two-yearpartnership with Harvest Road, a leadingPerth Agribusiness. Harvest Road haveagreed to provide support for the RASYouth in Agriculture Portfolio.In 2021 a subcommittee of RASWAwas formed. This committee is calledNEXTGEN WA, their membership istargeted at 18 to 35 year-olds who havea passion for agriculture and supportingthe agricultural show movement.Education and RedevelopmentVolunteersAgricultural Hall of FameAgriculture based education is integralto the core purpose of the RoyalAgricultural Society and we currently dothis through the Perth Royal Show andPerth Royal Food Awards. As part of theShowground redevelopment we will lookto integrate education into future plans.Volunteers are critical to stage the PerthRoyal Show, as without them the Showwould not be possible. Congratulationsto Lynda Landers, 2021 Volunteer of theShow – Committee Member and ChiefSteward for Flower Section – and JohnWither, Volunteer of the Year. John wasinvolved in the Perth Royal Wine Showand the Cattle Lanes at the Perth RoyalShow in 2021 and out of show with officeadministration tasks throughout 2021.2021 Inductee Dr Graham Crosbie wasa worthy selection.
