urgess Hill Rugby Football
Club has long been a beacon
of excellence in nurturing
female rugby talent, boasting
a rich history of developing
players who have progressed
to compete at exceptionally
high levels. Many of these
accomplished athletes remain
closely connected to the club,
generously giving their time and
expertise to mentor and inspire
the next generation of players.
In recent seasons, there has
been a signi昀椀cant nationwide
increase in the number of girls
participating in rugby, re ecting a

growing enthusiasm for the sport.
Burgess Hill has embraced this
trend, witnessing a noticeable rise
in female participation. Although
BHRFC had previously struggled
with the numbers necessary
to establish a girls’ team, the
burgeoning interest has paved
the way for new opportunities.
Last season, the club organized
girls-only training sessions
focused on contact rugby,
which proved to be immensely
successful. These sessions not
only enhanced the skills and
