Juniors Coaches
O
ur coaches are all
volunteers, passionate
about rugby and about
supporting and developing
the next generation of rugby
players. All coaches have
current DBS Checks, are RFU
qualified & first aid trained.
We have an ongoing training
programme for all coaches
including observed sessions,
sharing of best practice and
coaches’ socials. Coaches
also complete annual training
on child safeguarding and
concussion awareness through
the RFU. In addition, at least
one coach in each age has
completed a more in-depth
child safeguarding course with
the RFU.
Burgess Hill RFC is committed
to taking a kids 昀椀rst, child centred
approach to coaching. This
means our club and coaches:
Put children at the heart of
everything we do.
Encourage fun on the pitch
through equal opportunity and
realistic expectations of children.
Build the skills of our adults
to provide a safe, healthy,
respectful and enjoyable
environment for children.
20
evelop children s con昀椀dence
and character as players and
as people, challenging any
behaviour that con icts with this.
Champion rugby’s Core Values
inspiring a lifelong bond between
children, adults and sport.
To support coaches in this, we
encourage attendance at Kids First
Tag rugby and Kids First Contact
rugby training delivered by the RFU
and paid for by the club.
