First Aid
R
ugby is a contact sport
and although every care is
taken by coaches and players,
injuries do happen. As a club we
are committed to responding
to injuries appropriately and
ensuring player welfare is always
prioritised. Every team has at
least two uali昀椀ed First iders
attached to the team- including
the coaches in each age group.
There is a 昀椀rst aid kit for each
age group which is regularly
checked and restocked inline
with F guidance. n addition
there is further 昀椀rst aid e uipment
available in the club house,
including a de昀椀brillator.

All injuries are recorded and
monitored through an online
system called Pro CT V which
is recommended by the F .
Coaches and the afeguarding
team monitor injuries across the
season and ensure appropriate
return to play protocols are
followed where required to
support player recovery and long
term 昀椀tness.
Headcase Concussion Awareness
R
ugby is working hard to
reduce and minimise the
adverse effects of head injuries
and concussion. This has
included the F developing the
C
training for all involved
in community rugby to increase
awareness of concussion
symptoms and support players
to return to play gradually after
a suspected concussion. ll 昀椀rst
aiders and coaches complete
the online
C
concussion
awareness training annually and
we encourage all parents to also
familiarise themselves with the
training module and
C
guidance.
f a player is suspected of having
concussion, the Graduated Return
to ctivity and port
guidance will be followed.
