About this project
A total “gut-remodel” of an everyday “builder’s tract home.” We discovered that interior walls
could be easily removed to allow a large open space for a shared living, kitchen, and dining
area. The owner’s collection of artworks including a compelling “wire woman” piece was
specifically planned for in the redesign of the space. Innovations included the use of flooring
materials and boxed beams in the ceiling to define the specific functional areas of the large
space and create scale and intimacy, customized accent lighting and cabinetry bring cohesion
and sophistication to the transformed home.
