A Message from Library Leadership
A
t the Orange County Library System, collaboration drives everything we do.
Over the past year, we have worked closely with staff, community partners
and local leaders to deliver impactful services and exceptional programs. From
welcoming visitors to our 15 locations to hosting events in neighborhoods across the
county, our libraries continue to serve as a cornerstone of the community.
Today, the role of public libraries extends far beyond lending books. Libraries provide
a safe and inclusive space where people gain new skills, connect with others, discover
their next great read and achieve personal and professional goals. At OCLS, we know
our services and programs are more relevant now than ever, and we’re proud to lead
the way in providing resources that bring people together, help bridge divides and
make a meaningful difference in the lives of all residents.
This past year, we marked significant achievements in our efforts to advance
accessibility and drive innovation across OCLS. With input from community surveys
and listening sessions, we introduced a new strategic plan and purpose statement,
paving the way for a future that aligns with the needs and priorities of our customers.
We also made exciting progress on the development of two new branches in Horizon
West and Lake Nona, taking important steps toward expanding access to more
neighborhoods.
As we reflect on these accomplishments, we are deeply grateful to our dedicated
library staff. Their creativity, expertise and commitment to fostering a welcoming and
supportive environment are the foundation of our success. Every program, service and
initiative we deliver is a testament to their hard work and passion.
We are proud to share this annual report, which celebrates a year of progress and
highlights the many ways OCLS has enriched the lives of those we serve.
