GLOBAL SAFETY NET
One Earth is dedicated to empowering everyone,
everywhere, with the knowledge, inspiration, and
opportunity to heal the Earth and reclaim our future.
They turn knowledge into action by leading groundbreaking science to identify effective climate solutions
and building actionable tools to help shape policy,
guide investments, support grassroots organizations,
and galvanize a global movement of champions.
One Earth’s tools, including the One Earth Climate
Model, the Global Safety Net, the One Earth Solutions Framework, and the world’s 昀椀rst global-scale
Bioregional framework, are already being used by
decision-makers and influential institutions across the
昀椀nance, policy, and philanthropic communities.
With critical emphasis on the necessity of Naturebased solutions, conservation 昀椀nance is expected to
triple by 2030. This enormous task needs a unifying
blueprint that points decision-makers, philanthropists, and the broader public to the most strategic
places worldwide in need of immediate conservation
and restoration empowering all stakeholders to
collaborate effectively.
The Global Safety Net, led by One Earth in collaboration with 26 organizations, provides a spatial inventory
of unprotected lands and waters vitally important for
biodiversity and climate regulation. It identi昀椀es and
prioritizes areas critically in need of conservation and
restoration while factoring in the social equity concerns
of Indigenous Peoples and local communities.
