How did you get into nature and
wildlife photography?
I love both nature and photography,
and to get the opportunity to be in
the wild for recreation, learning, and
creating awareness for conservation.

What are your current main bodies
and lenses?
With the OM-D E-M1X and E-M1
Mark III I use the full range of
lenses, but in different situations
and will usually select only a few for
a trip. If I go hiking I tend to take
only one body, with the M.Zuiko 12100mm F4.0 IS PRO and the M.Zuiko
300mm F4.0 IS PRO with the MC-20
teleconverter as this weighs less
than 5kg, and is suitable for long
distance hikes. If I go out for specific
wildlife shoots, the new M.Zuiko
150-400mm F4.5 TC2.5x IS PRO is
perfect. For macro and close-up
details, for example in the forest, I
prefer using the M.Zuiko 40-150mm
F2.8 PRO and the M.Zuiko 60mm
F2.8 Macro. The M.Zuiko 45mm
F1.2 PRO is a favourite for details
like flowers, with short depth-offield. For landscape photography,
the M.Zuiko 7-14mm F2.8 PRO and
the 12-100mm F2.8 PRO are my
workhorses together with different
types of filters, and the feature
I like most for landscapes is the
Handheld High Res Shot Mode.
For wildlife photography, the silent
shutter is excellent, along with Pro
Capture Mode. The combination of
light weight, robust build, quality
and firmware features makes this kit
unique for my way of photographing.
Talk us through some of your
favourite photographs.
It is not easy to choose just a few
of my favourites and I do not take
award-winning photos. So, let me
instead share some photos that are
connected to important stories for me
personally, and represent something
that shows aspects of my specific
point of view in photography.
I enjoy bird photography because
I love to observe these stunning little
animals. This image of a female
European stonechat (3) was taken just
after my switch to the Olympus system
in 2016 and I felt such freedom, in
long-lens photography but without the
need for a tripod anymore.
In 2017 I was on a trip in the
rare accessible Northeast part of
Greenland. This was the greatest
climax of light, landscape, colours,
and wilderness I have experienced
so far. The national park is now
endangered as the hunger for oil and
other resources tries to destroy this
last fragile area.
This little insect, Libelloides
coccajus, represents one of the
unknown and rare species in our
close environment that is so unique
and special, as it seems to be a mix
of a butterfly and a dragonfly (1). It
belongs to the so-called owl flies. A
fragile wonder of creation, lost, as it
would seem that many people don`t
care any more about such things.
There is a photo that to me
represents pure freedom, and the
beauty of the mighty and untouched
nature that I was able to soak up into
my soul, from standing on a rock,
