When heading out tohunt San Juan Island Coho,make sure you are aware ofthe southeast MA 7 closure,and if you plan to fish thebanks be cognizant ofyour actual location. Knowwhere the Canadian borderis and where both the MA 7and MA 6 boundaries are.Regarding regulations;this year there has beenan increase in the numberof WDFW staff Safety andSecurity Incident Reportsfiled for harassment ofWDFW personnel. TheSafety and Security IncidentReports relate to negativeinteractions with anglersand were submitted byPuget Sound Samplingstaff over a two-monthperiod this summer.The negative interactionmakes WDFW recruitmentand retention difficult andstaff have quit their jobover the treatment they'vereceived this summer.As a participant in ourrecreational salmon fishery,please remember that thedepartment is required tomonitor the fishery.
