VP of Operations Support
Over the past year, our Supplier Diversity Team has worked hard to
strengthen our support system and deepen our connections with
diverse suppliers. While our efforts have paid off, we continue to
push ourselves to do even better. Our team has adopted a threepronged strategy designed to both simplify and focus our efforts:
• Making sourcing easier;
• Maximizing every dollar spent; and
• Buying responsibly
Guided by these pillars, we have ramped up networking
opportunities for diverse suppliers so that they can connect directly
with prime contractors and our business unit decision makers. A
supplier diversity symposium dedicated entirely to our strategic
undergrounding program attracted a packed room. It was gratifying
to be there and see that we are on the right track with our efforts to
make it easier for both our suppliers and internal stakeholders to do
business.
SDG&E’s ongoing collaboration with community organizations
remains strong and has resulted in new matches between
procurement opportunities and suppliers from underrepresented
communities. Whether it be women, communities of color, the
LGBTQIA+ community or service-disabled veterans, our company’s
procurement program provides opportunities for all. Community
organizations amplify these opportunities for SDG&E and are
critical to our program’s success.
