At the completion of each day's work, all debris is to be
removed from the site.
Exits are in no way to be obstructed.
The seating is to be laid out strictly in accordance with
item 5 of the attached printed list which is forwarded for
guidance, except that the rows of seating in excess of 14
will be allowed as shown on the approved plan.
The spacing between the perpendiculars of the front of one
seat and the back of the seat immediately in front of it
must not he less than 12 11 . The plans illustrate that the
two last rows in the back circle appear to be cramped.
Any space between the steppinr of the gallery and the seats
is to be covered in to prevent the likelihood of a person's
foot getting between the seating and the space.
The additional lighting system is to be altered to
effectively illuminate all steppings and the steps in the
circle. This lighting is to be particularly efficient
where additional steps occur in the passageways. Reference
is made to the beginning of the side passageways and central
passageways dividing the seating in the back circle. The
whole of the premises, especially the seating accommodation,
and exit stairs, etc., must be satisfactorily lighted during
every performance and until the entire audience have left
the premises. The lighting is to be tested in the evening,
in the presence of the Police, when all other lights are
extinguished and, if found insufficient, then additional
points or stronger globes are to be provided.
Judging from the plans it would appear that the steps
specially referred to in the passageways should be
illuminated by aisle lights whenever the public are present.
Such lights should be arranged to fully illuminate the step
set at right angles to the steps in the passageways.
(See portion marked in yellow circle on the approved plan.)
It is considered that the balustrading immediately opposite
the side passageways in the back circle, where marked in
green pencil, should be increased in height, especially as
it will not affect the si7ht line.
