On review the stalls seating was approved at 922 and the
licenseewas directed to reduce the gallery to 650 in view of the
inI dequacy of the exits. This was done.
During an interview in November, 1936,the DepartmIntal
Architect pointed out to Mr. Kouvelis that the ceiling and roof
constructions should be examined. This was dp_ne at intervals
of six months, but no work (apart from tigh.Wig p) was carried
out until January, 19401 when plans and specifications of roof
strengthening were submitted voluntarily.
