PROPOSED AMENDMENT TO THE TRANSPORT APPEAL BOARDS ACT,
1980 TO PROVIDE THAT THE POSITION OF VICE-CHAIRMAN BE
HELD AS A PART-TIME APPOINTMENT.
Approval was given to the recommendation contained in
Cabinet Minute 88-93, dated 24th May, 1988, submitted by
the Minister for Transport in relation to this matter.
The Minister for Transport is to take the necessary
action to give effect to Cabinet's decision, including
the preparation of the necessary legislation.

PROPOSALS FOR AMENDMENT OF THE COAL AND OIL SHALE MINE
WORKERS SUPERANNUATION SCHEME.
Approval was given to the recommendations contained in
Cabinet Minute 88-98, dated 25th May, 1988, submitted by
the Minister for Industrial Relations and Employment in
relation to this matter.
The Minister for Industrial Relations and Employment is
to take the necessary action to give effect to Cabinet's
decision, including the preparation of the necessary
legislation.

APPOINTMENT OF SECRETARY, DEPARTMENT OF
RELATIONS AND EMPLOYMENT.
INDUSTRIAL
Cabinet approved of a recommendation being made to the
Governor-in-Council that Mr. Peter Ashby Lawson be
appointed as Secretary, Department of Industrial
Relati,ms and Employment, for a term of 7 years, as
proposed in Cabinet Minute 88-99, dated 25th May, 1988,
submitted by the Minister for Industrial Relations and
Employment in relation to this matter.
The Minister for Industrial Relations and Employment is
to take the necessary action to give effect to Cabinet's
decision, including the arrangements for the necessary
medical examination.
HOUSING (VALIDATION OF RESUMPTIONS) BILL, 1988.
Approval was given to the provisions of the Housing
(Validation of Resumptions) Bill, 1988, as summarised in
Cabinet Minute 83-100, dated 25th May, 1988, submitted
by uhe Minister for Housing in relation to this matter.
