PROPOSED LEGISLATION TO AMEND THE ADOPTION OF CHILDREN
ACT, 1965.
Approval was given to the recommendations contained in
Cabinet Minute 33-46, dated 3rd May, 1988, submitted by
the Minister for Family and Community Services, in
relation to this matter.
•
The Minister for Family and Community Services is to
take the necessary action to give effect to Cabinet's
decision, including the preparation of the necessary
legislation.
PROPOSED LEGISLATION TO AMEND THE CHILDREN (CARE AND
PROTECTION) ACT 1987.
Approval in principle was given to the recommendations
contained in Cabinet Minute 83-47, dated 3rd May, 1988,
submitted by the Minister for Family and Community
Services in relation to this matter.
Cabinet also decided that the necesssary legislation was
to be prepared and submitted to the Community Services
Committee of Cabinet for comment, if any, before final
approval is given to the proposal.

decision.
PRICING ARRANGEMENTS FOR THE TAKEOVER OF PENRITH
SEWERAGE SCHEME BY THE WATER BOARD ON 1ST JULY, 1988.
Approval was given to the recommendations contained in
Cabinet Minute 88-25, dated 22nd April, 1988, submitted
by the Minister for the Environment, in relation to this
matter.
Cabinet also decided that the Minister for Housing
should receive sympathetic consideration from the
Treasurer in view of impact of the proposals on the
Department of Housing.
The Minister for the Environment is to take the
necessary action to give effect to Cabinet's decision.
